Ms. McKinney handles wide range of complex family law matters, with a focus on the Collaborative Process of dispute resolution. She is also trained as a mediator.

Ms. McKinney is sensitive to the needs of client's with business interests, having gained extensive legal experience with businesses small and large while working in the family office of a closely-held real estate company and as an attorney in the corporate litigation departments of two global law firms.

She serves as co-Vice Chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association's Collaborative Law Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Collaborative Law Association of Western Pennsylvania ("CLASP"). She is also co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association's Family Law Section and a fellow of Allegheny County Bar Foundation. In 2017, she was selected as a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Ms. McKinney is a 2005 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as an editor of the 2004 University of Chicago Legal Forum journal on Family Law, and is a 2002 graduate of Georgetown University, magna cum laude. From 2005 to 2007, she served as a law clerk to the late Judge Joseph F. Weis, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She has also taught Legal Writing at the University of Pittsburgh as an adjunct professor.

A proud resident of the City of Pittsburgh and a lover of the arts, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, where she is co-chair of the 2016-19 Strategic Plan. She is also a member of the Women's Committee of the Carnegie Museum of Art and is actively involved with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, the Keepers of the Pittsburgh Promise and the Shady Side Academy Alumni Council. She enjoys running and practicing yoga and is a teacher at Pittsburgh's Amazing Yoga studios.
